A central atrium bisects the podium like a major artery, filling the space with life and activity. Above the podium, a tower rises to stunning effect. Safdie, intent on allowing nature resonate throughout the design, incorporates a commercial-grade glass curtain wall window system into the building’s architecture. This luxurious touch allows for expansive sections of windows, minimizing intrusive frames and maximizing natural light. “One of the qualities in an apartment is lots of transparency, lots of light,” notes Safdie. “Clear and white glass [create] a very sculptural reflective pattern that goes all the way up [the tower].”
